Closing your account is permanent. Read this page carefully before proceeding so you understand what happens to your funds and data.
This action is permanent
Closing your account schedules it for permanent deletion after 30 days. Your email address cannot be used to create a new account on this platform. Read this page fully before proceeding.
What happens when you close your account
Account closure is not instant. When you submit a deletion request, your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this time, your account is deactivated but not yet permanently deleted.
If you change your mind within those 30 days, you can contact our support team to reactivate your account. After 30 days, the deletion is finalized and cannot be reversed.
What is permanently removed
Your account and profile
Your username, display name, avatar, and all profile data are permanently deleted.
Wallet and balances
Any remaining balance in your wallet at the time of deletion will be forfeited. Withdraw all funds before closing.
Transaction history
Your full transaction history is removed from your account view. Blockchain records remain on-chain but are no longer accessible through RutoWallet.
Email address
Your registered email address is permanently blocked from being used to create a new RutoWallet account.
Security settings
All 2FA configurations, active sessions, and security preferences are deleted along with your account.
Social connections
All linked social accounts (Telegram, WhatsApp, Messenger, Discord) are disconnected and cannot be relinked to a new account.
Before you close your account
Please complete the following before submitting a deletion request:
- 1Withdraw all remaining funds from your wallet to an external address.
- 2Cancel or resolve any pending transactions.
- 3Download your transaction history if you need it for records.
- 4Disconnect any linked social accounts from the Dashboard.
- 5Make sure you are not expecting any incoming transfers.
How to close your account
Go to Security settings
Log in to your account and navigate to the Security page from your Dashboard.
Go to SecurityFind the Delete Account section
Scroll to the bottom of the Security page. You will find the Delete Account section marked as Sensitive.
Enter your password and confirm
Enter your current password and check the confirmation box to acknowledge the consequences. Then click the delete button to submit your request.
30-day grace period begins
Your account is deactivated immediately. You have 30 days to contact support if you change your mind. After 30 days, deletion is permanent.
Changed your mind?
If your account is within the 30-day grace period, you can request reactivation by contacting our support team. Include your registered email address and a brief explanation.
After 30 days, reactivation is not possible. We respond within 36 to 48 hours.
